Q: What do I have to do to get my clothes ready for The Clothes Closet?
A: All consignments must be cleaned, pressed, on hangers, and in excellent selling condition. The better they look the better they sell.
Q: How old can my clothes be?
A: We accept clothing that is in season, excellent selling condition, and purchased new in the past 2 years.
Q: How long will The Clothes Closet continue to market my clothes?
A: Items will be on consignment for 60 days.
Q: What happens to the clothes that don’t sell?
A: We ask you to pick-up those pieces that have not sold within the 60 day period. To retrieve any unsold merchandise you must do so on or before the 60 day consignment period has ended. We require a 24 hour notice to pull your items for pick up.
Q: What happens if the clothes are damaged or stolen from The Clothes Closet?
A: This doesn’t typically happen, but should your clothes be lost, damaged or stolen, The Clothes Closet is not responsible.
Q: Are there any fees?
A: There is a one time consignor fee of $3.00 is required to open an account.
Q: Will you take all of my clothes?
A: While that would be great, we really can’t. We attempt to select those items we are confident our customers will like and purchase. This way, our customers benefit as do you, as a consignor. Our customers get the quality clothes they have come to expect from The Clothes Closet and you receive your money back in a timely manner. Please do not take offense if we cannot accept some of your items. Decisions are made from past selling experience, available space, and current inventory. We will provide you with references of other consignment stores that may be very interested in your other items.
